Remarkable Results: Fruitful Outcomes in Digital Teaching

After practical verification, the smart classrooms at the two universities have become core hubs in the local teaching systems:

  • Since June, 2024, the smart classroon at TUIT has accumulated over 672 hours of usage, serving more than 200 teachers and students, and has successfully supported several cutting-edge courses such as "Information Retrieval Systems," demonstrating excellent technical stability and teaching practicality. The TUIT IIOE National Center utilizes smart classrooms to empower hundreds of teachers across the country with AI capabilities.

  • KNU smart classroom was delivered in November 2023, the use of the smart classroom has become a new normal in teaching, with total usage reaching 4,550 hours and annual usage reaching 1,560 person-times. It not only hosts undergraduate and postgraduate courses but has also successfully held over 20 important events including seminars and international conferences.

Model Innovation: Quadripartite Cooperation Creates a Paradigm

The success of the Smart Classrooms in Central Asia stems from the innovative "Quadripartite Cooperation" model advocated by ICHEI:

  1. UNESCO-ICHEI as the General Coordinator and Facilitator: Leveraged its advantages as a UNESCO Category II Centre to accurately match the needs of all partners, provided project design and international standard guidance, ensuring the project's strategic height and sustainability.

  2. SUSTech as the Academic and Strategic Supporter: Utilized the smart classrooms as its cooperation hubs in Central Asia, not only sharing high-quality educational resources and experiences but also enhancing its visibility and influence in the region, laying a solid foundation for subsequent student exchanges, collaborative research, and attracting outstanding international students to China.

  3. TUIT and KNU as Local Hubs: Deeply participated in the project construction and operation, ensuring the solution perfectly fit local teaching needs, and undertook the responsibility of radiating and demonstrating the project outcomes to other universities in Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and the wider Central Asia region.

  4. Dazzleview as the Technology Solution Provider: Provided technical assurance for the project with its advanced integrated hardware and software solutions, and successfully promoted its products and services to the Central Asian market with the help of ICHEI's international network. This is a vivid case of "Intelligent Manufacturing in China" contributing to global digital education development.

Serving Universities, Cities, and Enterprises, Demonstrating the Comprehensive Benefits of the "Shenzhen Platform"

The successful implementation and stable operation of this project multi-dimensionally reflects the core value of ICHEI in multiple dimensions:

  1. Serving University Internationalization: The project effectively served SUSTech's internationalization strategy. By jointly building and sharing the physical platform of the smart classrooms, it significantly enhanced SUSTech's influence and appeal in Central Asia, providing a direct channel and brand trust for expanding the enrollment of international students from countries along the "Belt and Road".

  2. Serving City and National Strategies: As a UNESCO Category II Centre based in Shenzhen, ICHEI, through such successful projects, has planted the seed of "Shenzhen Cooperation" at the forefront of higher education in Central Asia. It vividly tells the story of Shenzhen and by extension, China's active participation in global education governance and sharing high-quality educational technology, enhancing Shenzhen's visibility and influence in international education cooperation.

  3. Supporting Enterprises in "Going Global": The project provided excellent international display and application scenarios for outstanding tech enterprises like Dazzleviw, lowering the thresholds and risks of exploring overseas markets, and forming a positive ecology of "attracting enterprises with platforms, driving industries with projects."

Looking Ahead

UNESCO-ICHEI will continue to use the proven successful model of smart classrooms as a blueprint, deepen cooperation with outstanding Chinese universities like SUSTech and pioneering enterprises like Dazzleview, and promote this innovative cooperation model to more Belt and Road partner countries, continuously contributing "Shenzhen Wisdom" and the "China Solution" to the global digital transformation of higher education.
