ICHEI visited UNESCO Headquarters officials to Deepen Collaborative Cooperation
On March 30, 2026, a delegation from the UNESCO International Centre for Higher Education Innovation (Shenzhen, China) (hereinafter referred to as "ICHEI") held a working meeting with relevant officials from the Division for Policies and Lifelong Learning Systems and the Future of Learning and Innovation Team at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.
During the talks between the ICHEI delegation and Mr. Borhene Chakroun, Director of the UNESCO Division for Policies and Lifelong Learning Systems and Acting Director of the UNESCO International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (IESALC), as well as Mr. Noah Webster Sobe, Chief of the Section for Higher Education, the two parties first reached a consensus on establishing a regular communication mechanism. They also explored deepening collaboration in multiple areas, including the development and promotion of the "AI + Industry" series of micro-certification courses, and the formulation of relevant policy recommendations for higher education in the digital and intelligent era. In addition, the two parties discussed leveraging the platform and course resources of the International Institute of Online Education (IIOE) to actively support the implementation of the flagship "Campus Africa" project, aiming to enhance the digital competence and AI literacy of higher education practitioners in Africa. Furthermore, exchanges of views were conducted on deepening cooperation in Latin America and co-organizing regional dialogues at the level of Latin American institutions and university alliances, with clear directions for subsequent advancement.
UNESCO-ICHEI visited Division for Policies and Lifelong Learning Systems & Future of Learning and Innovation Team
In the meeting between the ICHEI delegation and Mr. Sobhi Tawil, Director of the UNESCO Future of Learning and Innovation Team, and Ms. Shafika Isaacs, Chief of the Section for Technology and AI in Education, the two parties engaged in in-depth communication on the cooperation theme for the next phase. They will further consult and clarify the direction focusing on core matters that align with the interests and cooperation visions of both parties in the near future, and carry out relevant cooperation such as joint releases taking the UNESCO Digital Learning Week in September this year as an opportunity.
